Zurich American Insurance Sued for Worker Bias, Retaliation (1)

A Native American former employee of Zurich American Insurance Co. has filed a suit alleging the insurance company discriminated and retaliated against her because of her race, in violation of federal and state civil rights laws.

Lacy Nickol, who descends from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, worked remotely for Zurich from her residence in Montana. Nickol says her supervisor subjected her to heightened scrutiny and unwarranted criticism of her job performance after disclosing her tribal affiliation during a mid-year review.
