ZoomInfo Consumer Advances Suit Over Use of Name to Promote Site

ZoomInfo Techs. LLC must fact a proposed class action alleging it misappropriated the names and personal information of consumers to sell subscriptions to its services in violation of the Washington Personality Rights Act.

The company failed to establish that exemptions in the WPRA applied to its use of lead plaintiff Memary LaRock’s name and contact information on pages available during free trials, Judge Kymberly K. Evanson of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said Thursday.

Evanson denied ZoomInfo’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit and its motion to strike the class allegations.
