ZOLL Medical Corp. agreed to pay $3.5 million to resolve allegations that it failed to protect the personal information of patients and employees, according to a preliminary approval motion filed in federal court.
The settlement class is split between those who had their Social Security numbers potentially compromised by the breach and those who didn’t, according to the motion in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Members of the Social Security number class could recover more from a pro rata cash payment than those outside that group.
