Zeus Networks Beats Video-Privacy Suit on Jurisdictional Grounds

Streaming video-provider Zeus Networks LLC dodged a proposed class action alleging it shared consumers’ video-watching information with Meta Platforms Inc. in violation of the federal Video Privacy Protection Act.

Lead plaintiff Chalane Riley failed to show that Zeus, a Delaware-based corporation, had sufficient contacts with Massachusetts to establish the court’s jurisdiction over it, Judge George A. O’Toole of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said Tuesday.

O’Toole granted Zeus’s motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction.
