Zee Entertainment Gets Dismissal of Video Privacy Class Suit

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited convinced a federal court that India is the appropriate forum for a Video Privacy Protection Act dispute, and that the American proposed class action must be dismissed for good.

To sign up for a premium account with Zeel’s app, Zee5, a user would’ve agreed that any dispute over the terms of use would be resolved through Indian law and Mumbai courts. Zee5 is marketed as a South Asian specific streaming service with a vast content library of Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu movies.
