Zappos.com Hit With Wiretapping Suit Over Meta Info Disclosure

Zappos.com LLC allegedly violated federal and state wiretapping laws when it disclosed the personal information of its website visitors to Meta Platforms Inc. without their consent, a proposed federal class action said.

Zappos and Meta didn’t inform consumers that their information was being collected by Meta or obtain their consent to the disclosure, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

Zappos, a subsidiary of Amazon.com LLC, didn’t respond immediately to a request for comment. Meta isn’t named as a defendant.
