Yurok Tribe Ends Suit Over Low Dam Release Impact on Coho Salmon

The Yurok Tribe voluntarily dismissed its suit against the US Bureau of Reclamation claiming that restricted dam releases violate the federal prohibition against taking threatened coho salmon in Northern California’s Trinity River.

The dismissal without prejudice came as the parties on Thursday recommended adoption of an environmental study finding that the Trinity River Restoration Program’s variable flow project would have “no significant impact on the human environment,” according to filings with the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
