Yelp Sues Reputation Control Company Claiming Consumer Confusion

Yelp Inc. is hitting a reputation management company with a trademark and unfair competition suit in an effort to protect the trust its users have in the information they find on the business review website.

The review platform says that Reviewvio Inc.'s “deceptive review practices” threaten to undermine Yelp’s utility to consumers, which depends on its ability to provide “an accurate picture of what other consumers think about a particular business” on an even playing field.
