X Poised to Beat Lawsuit Over NFT Artist’s Account Suspension

X Corp. is likely to escape a lawsuit from a digital artist selling non-fungible tokens, who claimed his accounts on the Elon Musk-owned platform were arbitrarily suspended.

Judge William H. Orrick at a hearing on Wednesday said that a federal immunity law for internet companies known as Section 230 appears to shield X from legal liability in this case.

“So the decision to suspend the accounts, X would be immune for that,” the judge said, who sits on the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
