WWE Sanctions Win Upheld Against Counsel for Former Wrestlers

Counsel for former professional wrestlers who say they suffered long-term neurological injuries while working for World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. must pay more than $312,000 in sanctions for litigation misconduct, a federal appeals court said Monday.

The US District Court for the District of Connecticut didn’t abuse its discretion when it found sanctions warranted against Konstantine W. Kyros and Kyros Law PC for failing to comply with federal pleading requirements in Laurinaitis v. WWE and failing to provide responses to interrogatories in another consolidated action, in Singleton v. WWE, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said.
