Workers Improperly Joined in Transportation Company Wage Suit

Five former workers for a transportation company were improperly named in a wage lawsuit and are unable to challenge the suit’s unraveling, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The ex-employees of Professional Transportation Inc. had their appeal dismissed, which challenged a lower court’s de-certification of their Fair Labor Standards Act suit, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said in an opinion. Judge Frank H. Easterbrook said the appellate court lacked jurisdiction to hear the workers’ appeal.
