Workers Advance Contract Claim in Wage Suit Over Kronos Hack

Human resources services provider UKG Inc. must continue to defend against one of the claims that health-care workers brought seeking to recover lost wages following a ransomware attack on its Kronos service that disrupted their employers’ timekeeping and payroll systems.

Heywood Healthcare Inc. and MaineHealth employees Kirsten Maxfield and Casey Simpson only can survive UKG’s motion to dismiss their breach of implied contract claim, Judge Allison D. Burroughs of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said Wednesday.
