Wording of ‘Bogus’ Google Review Leaves NY Judges Confused

A review left on Google’s platform accusing law firm Oved & Oved LLP of censorship left a panel of New York judges confused during oral arguments Thursday, making it unlikely that the words could be considered defamatory.

David Friedman of the New York Supreme Court First Appellate Department said the word “censorship” in the review is ambiguous. “You don’t know what it means here.”

The nine-word review stated Oved & Oved’s attorneys are rude and that the firm has “high amounts of censorship.” The firm’s attorney agreed that the use of “rude” by itself is considered a protected opinion. The ...
