Woman’s Suit Over Lyft Sexual Assault Partly Dismissed by Judge

Lyft succeeded in getting a federal judge to dismiss some claims from a woman seeking to hold the rideshare company responsible for an alleged sexual assault.

The pseudonymous woman—Jane Doe A.F.—said that one of Lyft’s drivers assaulted her during a trip. Her lawsuit said that the incident was one of many sexual assaults that occur on Lyft rides, and that her assault ran counter to Lyft’s advertised image as a safe platform, according to court documents from the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
