Woman Accused in Nigerian Romance Scheme Must Remain in Custody

A woman accused of helping Nigerian fraudsters launder millions of dollars in proceeds from romance scams must remain in custody pending her trial in Utah, the Tenth Circuit said Wednesday.

Bolanle Odeyale, a Nigerian citizen and resident of Texas, poses a serious flight risk, and there aren’t any conditions of release that would reasonably assure her appearance at trial, the appeals court said in an order.
