WM to Pay $9 Million in Attorneys’ Fees in Investor Settlement

Firms representing pension funds in their $30 million settlement with Waste Management Inc. were approved to get one-third of the settlement to cover attorneys’ fees and costs.

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP and Law Office of David Harrison PLLC are set to split $9 million plus interest, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in a Tuesday order. The settlement—finalized in December 2025—resolves a shareholder class action alleging the garbage collection company misrepresented the timeline of its $4.6 million deal acquiring Advanced Disposal Services Inc.
