A football player at the University of Wisconsin, Madison sued the National Collegiate Athletic Association in federal court Wednesday, challenging its rule prohibiting players from competing for more than five years.
Nyzier Fourqurean, a corner back planning to graduate at the end of the year, said the NCAA violated federal antitrust law by preventing him from playing Division I football in 2025.
The player sued in the US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin after the NCAA on Wednesday denied his request for a waiver to play an additional year, which was supported by the university.
