A Seventh Circuit panel upheld a Wisconsin law barring gun ownership by people who were found guilty of crimes in other jurisdictions that would be considered felonies in Wisconsin, saying the state was within its rights to deny a concealed-carry permit to a man convicted of peyote delivery in a military court.
Wisconsin’s denial of Kenneth Karwacki’s permit doesn’t violate the Constitution’s full faith and credit clause, Judge Frank Easterbrook wrote Thursday, noting that “does not prevent states from specifying domestic civil consequences of foreign judgments.”
