Whitmer Kidnapping Plotters’ Convictions Upheld by Sixth Circuit

The Sixth Circuit on Tuesday upheld the convictions of two men who concocted a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D).

There was enough evidence for a jury to find Adam Fox and Barry Croft Jr. guilty, the three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said.

“Based on the record, a rational jury could infer that Defendants agreed to kidnap Governor Whitmer from her home and transport her to Lake Michigan and engaged in numerous overt acts in furtherance of the agreement, amounting to a textbook conspiracy,” Judges Joan L. Larsen, Chad A. ...
