Meredith Corp. defeated a bid by the White former chief meteorologist of a CBS station in Atlanta to revive his lawsuit alleging race drove his firing, not female workers’ sexual harassment reports.
The decision Friday by a divided US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit rejected Paul Ossmann’s attempt to refute the stated reason for his termination by pointing to racial demographic information regarding the TV station known as CBS46 that its human resourced director included on the form she sent to the corporation seeking permission for Ossmann’s discharge.
