NYC Faces Trial Over Schools Leaders ‘Diversity’ Push (Correct)

A jury will decide whether the New York City Department of Education and its former chancellor racially discriminated against three White executives who say they were demoted and replaced with less-qualified Black workers.

The US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday denied the NYC Department of Education’s and ex-NYC Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza‘s request to dismiss the lawsuit and stop it from going to trial. A jury could find that the White employees’ constitutionally protected rights to equal protection based on race were violated, Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil said.
