Whirlpool Dishwasher Deal’s $14.8 Million Fee Rejection Stands

Consumers who sued over allegedly defective Whirlpool Corp. dishwashers failed to convince the Ninth Circuit to revisit a decision that threw out a $14.8 million attorneys’ fee award but upheld a class settlement that reimbursed repair costs and offered rebates on future purchases.

The panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit denied petitions for panel rehearing and rehearing en banc. No judge on the full court requested a vote on whether to rehear the case en banc, a Wednesday order said.
