Whirlpool Can Avoid Lawsuits Over ‘Session Replay’ Software

Whirlpool Corp. can avoid two proposed class actions over its “session replay” software that allegedly tracked mouse movements and search terms, after a Florida federal court ruled the state communications law doesn’t apply.

Tammy Lee Connor and Mariana Cardoso argued that Whirlpool intercepted their communications when they visited its website kitchenaid.com. The company viewed their personal interests and habits, which also risked a leak of their personal information to third parties, according to the complaint.
