Wheat Thins Eaters Sue Mondelez Over ‘100% Whole Grain’ Claim

Mondelez International Inc. falsely portrays its Wheat Thins crackers as “100% Whole Grain” to drive sales, two consumers allege Thursday in a new proposed class action.

The “100% Whole Grain” representation means that all—100%—of the grain ingredients in Wheat Thins are whole grain ingredients, David Wallenstein and Montgomery Summa allege in a suit in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

“They aren’t,” the consumers say. Mondelez’s representation that all of the grain ingredients in Wheat Thins products are “whole grain” is “patently false and utterly misleading,” the suit alleges.
