Wheat Thins consumers on Wednesday won class certification in a suit alleging Mondelēz International Inc. deceptively labeled the crackers 100% whole grain even though they contained cornstarch, a refined grain.
The US District Court for the Northern District of California rejected Mondelēz’s argument that the named plaintiff’s experience was atypical of class members because he’d seen the ingredients label. The class includes California Wheat Thins purchasers after October 2018.
