Western Digital’s Patent Infringement Suit Won’t Be Dismissed

Western Digital Techs. Inc sufficiently pleaded exclusionary rights to three patents it alleges Viasat Inc. infringed, Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. ruled.

Western Digital alleged that Viasat’s media streaming products infringe three patents. The tech company said that Western Digital Techs. and Western Digital Ireland Ltd. “together are the owner and patentee of” patents ‘400 and ‘667, while SanDisk Techs. LLC “holds all substantial rights to the” patent identified as ‘834, according to the Wednesday order.
