West Monroe Partners Worker Stock Buyback Suit Gets Class Status

A former West Monroe Partners Inc. employee obtained class certification in his lawsuit alleging the consulting firm forced workers to sell the company their stock so it could resell the shares at a higher price.

The class of more than 100 former participants in West Monroe’s employee stock ownership plan who received distributions based on a 2020 valuation of the company satisfies the necessary requirements for class certification, Judge John R. Blakey of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said March 27.
