Weight Watchers Gives Google, Facebook Health Info, Suit Claims

Weight Watchers websites provide the personal information of users to Google, Facebook, and other tracking services, according to a proposed class action alleging violations of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act.

Several services on Weight Watchers International websites encourage providing personal data, sometimes health-related, in an effort to personalize a weight loss journey. But WW International allegedly provided that data and other identifiable information to third parties, despite promises in its privacy policy, according to the suit filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
