WeatherTech Owner Sues Booz Allen Over Leak of Tax-Return Info

WeatherTech Direct LLC’s owner is suing Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. after an employee of the consulting firm leaked his tax information to the New York Times, ProPublica, and other national news outlets.

David MacNeil’s complaint, filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Maryland, alleged that Booz Allen, an IRS contractor, allowed employees to have unrestricted and unmonitored access to IRS data and systems. Booz Allen employee Charles Littlejohn took advantage to that access to steal the tax return data of numerous high-profile taxpayers and leak it to national media, it said.
