Wayfair Hit With Trademark Suit Over Use of ‘Darvin’ Name

Wayfair LLC is facing trademark infringement claims by Chicago furniture retailer Darvin Furniture and Appliance of Orland Park Inc., alleging the company is using “the DARVIN trademark to drive traffic” to its online store.

When Darvin is entered as a search term on Wayfair’s website, the search returns over 1,000 results, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Wayfair also advertises “Darvin” furniture on social media platforms, including Pinterest, the complaint alleges.
