Washington Post Accused of Lax Data Protection Following Hack

An ex-Washington Post employee sued the newspaper for failing to protect thousands of its workers’ personal data.

The Post lost approximately 10,000 employees and contractors’ data in a 2025 cyberattack, according to Jun Hee Kim’s proposed class action complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

“The types of personal data exposed included names, employee ID numbers, bank account numbers, and routing numbers,” the complaint said.
