Two Warner Brothers entities were properly granted judgment against a White worker who alleged race discrimination and a DEI push caused him not to be hired for a new show, the Ninth Circuit ruled.
Brian Armstrong lacked proof the employee who made the hiring decision relied on the companies’ statement espousing a commitment to diversity and inclusion, a unanimous panel said Monday in an unpublished opinion. He also failed to show the statement contained a directive from WB Studio Enterprises Inc. and Warner Brothers Entertainment Inc. regarding whom to hire.
