WanaBana Consumer Sues Over Lead in Cinnamon-Applesauce Pouches

WanaBana LLC was hit with a consumer’s proposed class suit following the recall of cinnamon-flavored applesauce pouches found to contain high levels of lead.

New Yorker Samantha Marsh alleges she and others wouldn’t have bought WanaBana’s products had she known they could contain the neurotoxin. The suit was filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Marsh demands money damages and the establishment of a blood testing program to monitor consumers’ health and diagnose at an early stage any ailments associated with lead exposure.
