Walmart Workers Seek Nod for Nearly $1.5 Million Wage Suit Deal

Wal-Mart Associates Inc. and warehouse workers who say it stiffed them on pay for necessary pre-shift work reached a deal to settle their wage-and-hour dispute for nearly $1.5 million.

The deal will give nearly 4,000 workers at two warehouses—one in Nevada, the other in South Carolina—approximately $888,000 after accounting for attorneys’ fees and other costs related to litigating and settling the case, according to a memo filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Nevada as part of the preliminary approval motion.
