Walmart Workers’ $35 Million Paystub Settlement Wins Early OK

Walmart’s proposed $35 million settlement to resolve workers’ claims that it violated California law when it failed to provide employees with accurate written wage statements won federal district court approval, but only after the parties agreed to tweak the language of the release.

Judge Andre Birotte Jr. rejected an earlier iteration of the proposed deal that would have required class members to release any and all claims against Walmart arising out of California Labor Code §226.
