Walmart Heads to Trial Over Worker’s Suicide After Gun Sold (1)

Walmart Inc. failed to shake off claims that it was negligent in selling a firearm to an employee who was experiencing a mental health crisis and used the gun to take his own life.

The Maryland Workers Compensation Act doesn’t bar the claims brought by the family of Jacob Mace, Magistrate Judge Ajmel A. Quereshi of the US District Court for the District of Maryland ruled, denying Walmart’s motion for summary judgment.
