Walmart Gets Final Approval for $1.45 Million Wage Settlement

Walmart and a class of employees who alleged the company failed to pay wages for necessary pre-shift work received a district court’s final approval for a $1.45 million settlement.

US District Court for the District of Nevada Judge Miranda M. Du issued an order on Tuesday granting a motion for final approval of the settlement, which resolves claims of nearly 4,000 workers at two warehouses in Nevada and South Carolina. The settlement provides monetary payments to named plaintiffs totaling $30,000, and approval for attorneys’ fees and costs of $478,500 and $14,079, respectively.
