Walmart Faces Patent Suit for Ads Platform, Website Features (1)

Walmart Inc.‘s website and advertising program allegedly infringes RavenWhite Licensing LLC’s patents for processing cookies and serving targeted online advertisements.

RavenWhite sued Walmart in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Sept. 15, alleging the retail giant violated RavenWhite’s exclusive right to commercialize its patented systems for improving data security when transferring browser cookies, and using those cookies in an advertising model. RavenWhite seeks compensatory damages and interest.
