Walgreens Workers Urge Final Nod for $3.3 Million Wage Deal

California Walgreens pharmacy technicians urged a federal court in the state to grant final approval to a $3.3 million class settlement resolving allegations the drugstore chain shortchanged them on wages and overtime, and failed to provide meal and rest breaks.

The settlement offers “a substantial monetary recovery” to nearly 6,745 class members, a Thursday filing in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said.

Judge David O. Carter tentatively approved the settlement with Walgreen Co. and Walgreen Pharmacy Services Midwest LLC in December 2020, and authorized notice to the class.
