Walgreens Workers Seek Early Nod for $950K Deal in Uniform Suit

Representatives for a proposed class of Walgreen Co. workers are seeking preliminary approval for a $950,000 settlement that they say would resolve their wage-and-hour claims against the company for failing to compensate for replacement uniforms.

Serena Naro and Trish Gonzales, who filed suit in May 2022, allege on behalf of themselves and about 12,500 class members, that Walgreens violated California’s wage and hour laws by requiring them to wear and purchase company-branded uniforms without compensating them, bringing claims under California’s labor laws and the state’s Private Attorneys General Act.
