Walgreens Must Defend Pharmacist’s Sex Bias, Retaliation Lawsuit

Walgreen Co. lost a bid to dismiss a pharmacist’s claims that the drugstore maintained a sexually and racially hostile work environment and fired her for complaining about discrimination and legal violations.

Rebecca Owensby may proceed with her hostile work environment claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Tennessee Human Rights Act, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee said in an opinion by Judge Travis R. McDonough.
