Walgreens Gelatin-Free Vitamin Suit Recommended for Dismissal

A Walgreen Co. customer who alleged the pharmacy chain falsely marketed its women’s multivitamin as free of gelatin failed to raise any viable claims, according to a New York federal judge’s order recommending dismissal of the proposed class action.

The Walgreens-brand product contained “notable levels” of gelatin, an ingredient many consumers avoid because of allergies, religious restrictions, or moral convictions about consuming animals, Sunita Kanwar alleged in a suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
