Walgreens, CEOs Accused of Defrauding Investors in Opioid Scheme

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. and several of its former and current executives have been sued for allegedly defrauding investors by scheming to boost the company’s bottom line through opioid sales.

Former Walgreens Chief Executive Officer Rosalind G. Brewer sold nearly $2.4 million in shares of Walgreens stock during the proposed class period, and former company Chief Financial Officer James Kehoe sold over $4.3 million in Walgreen stock, each while disseminating “false and misleading” statements to maintain artificially inflated stock prices, according to the proposed investor class action filed Jan. 30 with the US District Court for the Northern District of ...
