Wabtech to Pay $625,000 to Settle Lawsuit Over 2022 Data Breach

Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corp. will pay $625,000 to settle allegations it negligently failed to protect the personal information of 17,158 current and former employees that was exposed in a 2022 data breach, under a deal given final approval by a federal court.

Class members will be entitled to a pro rata share of the net settlement fund after deduction of attorneys’ fees and expenses and the costs of settlement administration, according to the text of the settlement.
