VW, Drivers Get Final Nod for Jetta, Tiguan Transmission Deal

Volkswagen Group of America Inc. and drivers who alleged transmission flaws in certain Jetta and Tiguan vehicles caused rattling, jerking, and oil leaks secured final approval for a class settlement that provides warranty extensions and reimbursement for certain repairs.

The deal was reached in good faith, and wasn’t the product of any collusion between the parties or their lawyers, Judge Dale S. Fischer of the US District Court for the Central District of California said Thursday.
