Vroom Car Dealer Agrees to $1 Million Deal Over Deception Claims

Vroom Inc. agreed to pay $1 million to settle the US Federal Trade Commission’s claims of misrepresenting how thoroughly vehicles were examined before being listed and failing to provide refunds for delayed shipments.

The agency said the online car dealer deceptively advertised that its vehicles had gone through rigorous inspection processes before they were listed for sale, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
