Volvo Ends Suit Alleging Classwide Leave Bias at Virginia Plant

Two Volvo Group NA LLC workers dropped their proposed class action that alleged the company’s Dublin, Va., plant discourages employees from using family and medical leave and retaliates against those who seek it, federal court records show.

The company, Michael Parcell, and Stephanie Akers filed a stipulation of dismissal Jan. 7 in the Family and Medical Leave Act case. The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia entered the dismissal later that day, according to the docket sheet.

The stipulation said the dismissal is “with prejudice,” with each side responsible for its attorneys’ fees and other legal costs, ...
