Volkswagen Sues Texas Used Car Dealer for Trademark Violations

Volkswagen is accusing a Dallas-based used car dealership of diluting and infringing on its “world famous” trademark on the dealer’s website, name, and logo, according to a new lawsuit.

Volkswagen Group of America Inc. alleges Vdubs Only Inc. is violating federal trademark laws, the Lanham Act’s false advertising clause, and is participating in cyberpiracy, according to a complaint filed April 26. Peyman Zamani, owner of the defendant company, was also named as a defendant in the lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
