Volkswagen Sued Over Defect Making Vehicles Burn Too Much Oil

Volkswagen is facing a new proposed class action accusing the automaker of failing to disclose an oil consumption defect in its 2022 and 2023 VW Tiguan models that causes them to prematurely burn off and consume abnormally high amounts of engine oil.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, Scott Worthington alleged that Volkswagen Group of America Inc. and Volkswagen AG violated the Minnesota Prevention of Consumer Fraud Act, breached express and implied warranties, and was unjustly enriched. He also brought claims for fraudulent concealment and negligent misrepresentation.
