Virginia County Beats Male Police Officer’s Job Reprisal Appeal

A Fairfax County, Va., police officer who lost his role overseeing a firearms range that provides training to his and neighboring departments lacked evidence his transfer was spurred by his race, sex, and age bias complaints, the Fourth Circuit ruled Tuesday.

The court cited the approximately 18-month gap between the officer’s complaints and when he was transferred following an investigation into his telling a Black woman he believed sex was the decisive factor in her being promoted to first lieutenant.
